Church

Church was really cool today. Although it took an hour to get to church... Our branch president is really nice and like knows so many people all over the world. I guess he has a friend in Plain City named Steve Olsen who used to be a bishop but I didn't recognized the name. The members of the branch are native English speakers and most of them are American. Today Elder Pearson of the seventy came and spoke. I guess Moscow had a conference with Uchtdorf presiding and he said that if Moscow can form a stake then a temple will be built in Moscow which will be the first temple in Russia! I thought that was really interesting news! A lot of people in the branch work for the embassy. Tonight we are having palmeni again this time it's stuffed with mashed potatoes. Marina should be back too from the countryside. I'm excited and nervous to see the rest of the family! Tomorrow I hope we can get to the market so that I can barter for some clothes. We will see!

cool about the temple news. i hope russia gets more members.

i noticed you were wearing sweatshirts in your photos. must be nice! but then again, you'll be pretty cold once real winter comes around. haha.

ps: everyone smokes outside of the states. but depending on the country, their idea of "polite" smoking can vary. i just hope no one blows second hand smoke in your face. :)

  3. Hi, Carianne. Your Dad (or your Mom) posted the link to your blogsite on the Hirano Heritage site
just today, so I am just right now getting caught up with what you have posted so far. All very interesting. What blows me away is that so many of the people that you are having contact with speak English. I had imagined you having to cope with a language barrier just like I would if I went to visit Japan. Oh, BTW, my comment will come out as coming from sumsum, but if you haven't figured it out, that would be me, Sumio, brother to your grandpa, Yoshio. Your blogsite is now on my "favorites" list, so I'll be checking in more than just off and on. Have a blessed stay in Moscow!

  9. Ah, don't I feel utterly foolish! As many times as the computer told me that my comment would publish upon "approval" it just stayed frozen on my screen for up to an hour, so I kept trying, and voila!, here they all appear out of cyberspace. I'll know better from now on.
